The names are pouring in for our list of John Howard’s public appointments – here are the latest additions:
Scott Morrison: new head of Tourism Australia, ex prominent liberal party official
Tim Fisher: Chairman of Tourism Australia, ex deputy prime minister
Christopher Pearson: is (or was)
also on the council of the National Museum. And he was on the Australia
Council for a while, but that was some years ago.
Carla Zampatti: SBS Board, wife of John Spender
Dick Smith: was Chairman of the Civil Aviatiaon Safety Authority, a
failure – remember the airspace redesign debacles
In the run-up to the federal election Crikey worked up a list
that gave a fair indication of the allies Howard has stacked
governmental
boards with. We called it Mark Latham’s hit list, in the wildly silly notion that Iron Mark (remember him?) might get over the
line on November 9.
