Did the fake Nine News helicopter incident remind you of anything? Could it be that classic Aussie comedy Frontline was all across this sort of “on the scene” coverage many moons ago? Take it away, Martin di Stasio.

One of the best Aussie shows of all time!
Bring back Frontline. I’d settle for reruns. It’s funnier when they’re pretending to be pretending to be journalists than just pretending to be journalists.
I’ve rewatched the series many times & it is increasingly obvious that the networks use this as a training manual for their new “journos” and production teams. Do your kids a favour & have them watch it (it hasn’t dated at all & is still very funny) & they’ll instantly recognise what happens even now on ACA & TT.
Here’s an idea for a new series……. How about doing the same thing focusing on a “shock-jock” style talk back radio show. So much ammunition!
Yeah, having re-watched Frontline again recently it is remarkable how relevant it still is and also just how funny it is. Surely one of the best comedy series ever produced in Oz.
