As predicted in Crikey two weeks ago, Fairfax is set to announce a rejig of the deckchairs as the ship slowly sinks. Crikey understands that the director of group operations, Peter Graham, has decided to quit the company, following the recent appointment of a rival executive, Brian Evans, as chief operating officer and therefore the man most likely to succeed Professor Fred Hilmer as CEO.

As predicted in Crikey, Fairfax is likely to appoint a Melbourne-based general manager of The Age and an equivalent position to run The Sydney Morning Herald. James Hooke, currently running Fairfax’s regional and suburban papers, is likely to fill one of those roles.

Where does all that leaves the current commercial manager, Alan Revell? In the cold, most likely.
