Mmmm…they are up to it again. Oz Post managers are “managing” the mail
volumes. What that means is that Post holds back mail so that they can juggle
volumes and workloads. This cuts back overtime and staffing. It also means that
the public waits longer for mail.

On most occasions it is mail without postmarks and dates that can be traced eg.
bank statements, rate notices, rego notices, power bills etc. The very charter
by which Post exists is breached. The managers do this to appease the bean
counters, but the service fails. The service fails everyone…except the
accountants. Weird?

It is a regular occurrence and only goes underground when discovered. It can
pop up anywhere at anytime. It is always denied and never seems to be across
the board, hence staggered delivery. Mail management is the in-house
terminology…in the real world it is seen as mismanagement.

It has reared its head at the Tingalpa Delivery Centre in Brisbane. For two
Mondays in a row the mail has been held back for the usually quieter Tuesdays.
Those Mondays were the 7th and 14th of March. Local staff can attest to this.
The mail included various billing and statement mail. Anything posted in bulk
is targeted. Sneaky? What price service?
