Glenn Dyer reports:

The Winners Nine won again, more decisively than on Monday and
Tuesday. The big prize winner on Nine’s Temptation (No.1 with 1.627 million) saw it shake off Bec Cartwright’s departure from Home and Away (7th with 1.380 million). But what will happen tonight when it’s back to even stevens
on the game show? Seven’s Forensic Investigators moved past the million viewer
mark for the first time (1.056 million), Spicks and Specks on the ABC was also above the million mark (1.042 million) for the second time, along with Neighbours at 6.30pm for Ten (1.002 million). House at 8.30pm did well for Ten with 1.41
million and McLeod’s Daughters ditto for Nine with 1.408
million.
The Losers

No real losers on a night with 18 programs watched by a
million or more viewers. Ten Network perhaps would have felt it should have done
a bit better in “All People,” but as it targets the 16 to 39s, it’s officially
undeterred.

News & CA
Seven News
and Today Tonight
again won nationally and in Sydney. Nine News won Melbourne and Brisbane, but Seven News won Adelaide and
Perth.
The Stats Nine won 30.3% to 27.7% for Seven and Ten way back on
21.2%. The ABC was on 16.2% and SBS on 4.6%. Nine won everywhere bar Perth.
Seven is slowly closing the gap on Nine in
Melbourne.
Glenn Dyer’s
comments
The night panned out as forecast. Ten was a touch more
competitive but Seven didn’t have enough to build on its strength from 6pm to
7.30pm. Seven comes back to the field on Thursday nights after the
last episode of Lost tonight, just as Nine will come back to the field on Fridays after the AFL this weekend. SBS has the first
day of the fourth Ashes cricket test tonight and given the interest that will undermine
audiences on the commercial networks. It will certainly make life difficult for Nine’s Footy
Shows
and might take the gloss of the Lost finale.
