Who’s cocky? “Winning this election, and 16 seats, is like climbing Everest and I will be coming down like a ton of bricks on anyone showing any level of arrogance,” Kevin07 said on Tuesday in the wake of suggestions some of his colleagues were already dividing up the spoils of office. So how does that explain the persistent reports out of Brisbane that the Ruddster’s people have already approached the owners of Waterfront Place, home of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices in Brisbane, about reorganising the floor space for when he’s PM?
Who’s cocky II? What will happen to the one time Maoist mau-mauer Keith Windschuttle, Howard rat Janet Albrechtesen and the other culture warriors of the right on the ABC Board if there’s a change of government? A few names of Labor and small l liberal luvvies are already doing the rounds as replacements. Talk says some have already been approached.
Clappers coming to Canberra. The ebullient Pastor Danny Nalliah from Catch the Fire Ministries is at it again:
Dear Friends and Family in Christ,
During my meeting with the Prime Minister on 10 August 2007, I discussed the possibility of calling the Church across Australia to come together in Federal Parliament for a service of corporate prayer and thanksgiving in recognition of the rainfall throughout our nation, in addition to praying for the upcoming election. It is therefore with great joy I announce that this service will be held on 22 October 2007 from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Great Hall in Parliament House, Canberra.
The focus of this service will be to thank God for the Heaven sent rain our nation has received over the past several months, following the Prime Minister’s call for Australia to pray for rain and the Church’s enthusiastic obedience. We will also pray for further rain, which is much needed in many areas across our nation. In addition, we will pray for the Federal election, that those elected will fulfil God’s plan and purpose for our nation’s destiny and the future generations in this Great South Land of the Holy Spirit!
Pastor Danny writes: “As the Great Hall can seat up to 800 people, seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.” You have been warned.
So, Catch the Fire are being allowed to use the Great Hall in Parliament House for a prayer meeting to ‘thank” someone for rainfall. Are they renting out the hall? Can anyone have a function at Parliament or is it just the Happy Clappers?
