The Australian, January 15, citing research by the CSIRO’s Dr John Church:
Dr John Church at a media conference this morning:
“So sea level clearly is linked to climate change, it is clearly linked to increases in greenhouse gases, and that’s actually in the paper which was quoted by The Australian. So the quote is, I’m sorry, inaccurate.”
Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, speaking to Crikey today:
“What is particularly important is that sane and rational voices must respond to these questions and this scepticism, and I think that should get adequate currency. Then people can make up their minds on their own.”
What he said.
Are Murdoch op-ed hacks, in their flurry to spread the message, that dumb or just lying?
With it’s record of abuse of it’s position, The Oz has been driven down the road from a newspaper, to a viewspaper to abusepaper.
Thanx for this. I was surprised at the Australian’s story and am grateful to Crikey for correcting it so readily.
Appropriating the motto of its more raucous sister the Herald-Sun : Stories Start Here?
You could accuse Graham Lloyd of not being very good at his journalist gig, so I guess his propagandising meets Mitchell’s approval.
Losing Leigh Dayton while keeping Graham Lloyd? Great job!
