We were wrong. The streets of Sydney really are becoming more violent. A particularly nasty incident yesterday is a prime example …
It’s what Sydney’s newspapers — and David Gyngell’s own television network — have been saying for some time: there’s an insidious culture of bogans punching on and creating fear in the community.
Barry O’Farrell’s crackdown on violence is timely. The community must be protected from these thugs, who have little regard for decency and, apparently, personal integrity.
If you spot the suspects please alert the police. Immediately.

This is precisely the type of story beloved by A Current Affair. Two vital elements ie: bozos, violence.
Surely they’ll be running it as their lead story tonight…?
Deeply disappointed that Crikey didn’t practice “chequebook journalism” with the lunch money & scoop the MSM with the pics.
Of course, in commercial media world, they’re not thugs, they’re lovable Aussie larrikins.
No need for CCTV or interviewing witnesses – surely the offence of “public affray” is clear & unarguable?
