Seven was an easy winner in metro and regional markets. Ten was third overall in both, but the ABC (shorn of most of its strong Monday night current affairs line up), was third in the main channels.
The 6pm-7pm news programs on Nine and Seven dominated the top of the most watched programs in the metros. In the regions, three interlopers snuck into the top five: the second repeat episode of The Big Bang Theory, as well as Home and Away and Nabbed. Overall, Monday night was a shadow of what it was during official ratings
Tonight though keeps the standard (if only for another week or two), with the entertainment to be provided by Clive Palmer dining with Annabel Crabb in Kitchen Cabinet. Will the Palmster rip off his napkin and spit a crab claw at Crabb?
But the program to watch is the second part of the documentary on the National Party on ABC1 — an interesting conjunction with the results of the Victorian poll which saw the party lose one of its safest seats and its status in the Victorian parliament. Nine remains in thrall to repeats of The Big Bang Theory. How’s that for mindless programming? Fresh episodes of Two Broke Girls (a 2014 US flopperoo) also make an unwelcome return to Nine which also has a program called Kalgoorlie Cops, in the same rich and wonderful tradition as Territory Cops and Gold Coast Cops on Ten. A summer special, if ever there was one. Seven sneaks another New Zealand, sorry Australasian TV program called Dog Patrol (set in Christchurch, how interesting for viewers in Sydney or Perth) into its schedule, to go with last night’s Motorway Patrol and Nabbed.

Jeez Glenn – you’re a bit hard on the Kiwis. I go there regularly for business and their TV screens are absolutely lousy with the good, and not so good, of Australian TV.
Sauce for the goose and all that, and judging by last nights local ratings, people here actually enjoy watching their shows.
At least their cop shows
