Thankfully The Checkout returned to ABC last night. Home and Away ticked over for Seven last night. If they hadn’t been in the schedule, it would have been a night more dull than it was. The telemovie of Redfern Now on ABC was also more than OK. The Checkout’s return was appreciated by viewers: 1.077 million watched nationally and it was a top 10 finisher. Home and Away was second nationally with 1.234 million, a normal night for the Seven stalwart. Redfern Now had 663,000 national viewers, good figures.
If anyone is interested there’s a fresh episode of Midsomer Murders on ABC tonight, not one of those retreads on ABC in the afternoon and on Gem whenever it seems to suit Nine. Poldark’s on ABC on Sunday night for viewers who like their hysterical dramas full of men without their shirts. And politics junkies should watch the latest episode of Inside The Commons on ABC on Sunday night before Poldark for a top notch example of the observational documentary making that is informative and full of interesting content. And there’s the usual rounds of football of various codes (with the Swannies playing the Kochies, sorry, Port Adelaide tomorrow night).
