Thursday night apart from Seven was a bit of a wasteland, along with another solid effort from The Checkout on ABC at 8pm — 1.047 million viewers and deserved more. Australia: The Story of Us (1.185 million national viewers) and Downton Abbey (1.073 million viewers), plus Home and Away (1.294 million viewers) stood out in commercial TV. A night that is fading from memory. Seven and Night shared the honours, but Nine did better in the key demos.
