With the NRL on in Brisbane and Sydney, plus another good performance from the Nine from 6pm to 7pm, it was an easy win for Nine in the metros. Seven might have been second overall (just in front of Ten), but thanks to The Bachelor (aka the meat market), Seven slipped to a distant third in the main channels. In regional areas the NRL game pushed Nine out in front of Seven, Ten and the ABC . The NRL game between Melbourne and Brisbane on Nine and Gem had a total national audience of 1.154 million viewers. The Australia Bangladesh World Cup Qualifier had 399,000 viewers on SBS (197,000) and Fox Sports (102,000). And the first session of the first One Day Cricket International between Australia and England had 204,000 viewers from around 10.30pm. But I wish Ian Healy would put a sock in it sometimes and haul back on the hyperbole.
In the mornings Today with 250,000 beat Sunrise with 321,000.
