Nine won the night in the metros, but lost heavily to Seven in the regions. Nine won the metros because of The Footy Show which ran for two hours. The Footy Show managed 894,000 national viewers. Masterchef stood out finishing tops on the metros with 1.089 million viewers and third nationally with 1.439 million people.
Kitchen Cabinet on the ABC averaged 845,000 national viewers, with Rake on 899,000. Rake in fact just pipped The Footy Show. Cleverman debuted on the ABC at 9.30 and averaged 643,000 viewers: 452,000 in the metros and 191,000 in the regions. Hopefully it can build from that figure.
In the regions, Seven again dominated the most watched programs with Seven News tops with 626,000, Home And Away next with 486,000; Seven News/Today Tonight with 478,000; The Chaser Australia 5.30pm was on 462,000 and Nine News on 424,000
Today won metro breakfast with 355,000 viewers to Sunrise’s 327,000. Sunrise won nationally.
