More solid Rio Games ratings for Seven and the result was the same as Monday and Sunday nights. The ABC beat Ten in the metro main channels and Ten was third overall. In the regions, Ten slipped into a narrow third on both measures. Seven was a big winner in both metro and regional markets.

In regional markets Seven News was tops with 635,000 viewers, followed by the 5.30pm part of The Chase Australia with 566,000, then In Rio Today, Day 3 with 546,000, with the evening coverage of Day 4 of the games fourth with 431,000 and then the 5pm part of The Chase Australia with 416,000.

Seven says there were 10.1 million streams over the first four days of the games (more than all of the 2012 London games) and 3.2 million for day four, which was dominated by that Australian Rugby Sevens gold medal win. The 3.2 streams yesterday was a new record.
