“We are at a crossroads where our first priority must be saving our nation. We need a leader with qualities that resemble those of Winston Churchill, and I believe that leader is Donald Trump. As Churchill did, Trump possesses the resolve to put his country first and to never give up in a world that is increasingly hostile to our values.”
Winston Churchill. Really. So says Jerry Falwell Jr, son of the evangelical preacher who blamed the September 11 attacks on “the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians”.
It’s a deeply weird endorsement (other highlights include that Barack Obama might have knowingly encouraged the formation of Islamic State). And it’s very bad timing for Falwell (and Trump), as the following day The New York Times revealed Trump’s financial arrangements are a mess of debt and murky accounting. The self-described billionaire might not be, as it turns out.
Another day, another revelation. And there are still two more months to go.
Trump is clearly not the reincarnation of Midas he purports to be. Warren Buffett challenged him to share a table to compare tax returns which was met with silence from Camp Trump.
If The Donald really had the goods he would revel in any opportunity to flaunt his wealth. He’s pure puffery.
Another Clive Palmer, perhaps?
The preacher sounds like a member of kkk, a great endorsement.
Build that fence – to keep them in.
With frendz like Falwell it will fall well.
