The Winners: Ten’s 8.30pm NCIS averaged 1.626 million and topped the most watched list. Its 7.30pm program. Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation was second with 1.613 million and Seven News was third with 1.612 million people. Today Tonight was next with 1.575 million and Seven’s The Zoo at 7.30pm averaged 1.476 million. Find My Family at 8pm for Seven was 6th with 1.397 million and MasterChef Australia averaged 1.291 million from 7pm to 7.30pm for Ten. Nine News averaged 1.271 million and A Current Affair was next in 9th spot with 1.192 million. Seven’s Home and Away was 10th with 1.186 million viewers and All Saints averaged 1.170 million at 8.30pm for Seven. Ten’s Lie To Me averaged 1.170 million at 9.30pm and 12th. The 7pm repeat of Two and a Half Men averaged 1.107 million. The 7pm ABC News averaged 1.090 million. Seven’s 10 Days Younger in 10 Days was 15th and lifted to average 1.048 million at 9.30pm. Ten News averaged 1.038 million in 16th spot, its second million plus audience in as many days.

The Losers: Nine’s repeats or otherwise of Underbelly Uncut. It’s unwatched at 9.30pm through 11.30pm. Lipstick Jungle on Seven at 10.30pm, 389,000. Ten’s Late News had 450,000. The two episodes of Two and a Half Men from 8.30pm (925,000) and 9pm, (903,000). Odd how people watch at 7pm in moderate numbers (1.1 million last night) and not an hour later. Home Made (see below): 862,000.

News & CA: Seven News again won nationally and in every market as did Today Tonight. The 7pm ABC News with 369,000 viewers in Sydney finished above Nine News with 357,000 (but its audience is a bit stronger in the past three weeks). The 7.30 Report averaged 804,000, Lateline, 223,000, Lateline Business, 130,000. Ten’s late News/Sports Tonight, 450,000. Nine’s late News, 220,000. SBS News at 6.30pm, 193,000, 209,000 for the 9.30pm edition. 7am Sunrise on Seven, 374,000, 7am Today on Nine, 276,000. Foreign Correspondent, 641,000, on the ABC at 8pm.

The Stats: Ten won with all. Its All People 6pm to midnight share was 30.2% (27.6%). Seven was second with 28.9% (28.4%), Nine was third with 21.9% (22.5%), the ABC was on 14.5% (17.0%) and SBS was on 4.6% (4.4%). Seven won Brisbane; Ten won the other four metro markets. But no such joy in regional areas. As we have said before, Ten’s reality programs don’t really do it for viewers in the bush. So Prime/7Qld had a solid win with 31.1% from Southern Cross (Ten) with 26.0%), WIN/NBN with 22.6%, the ABC with 14.7% and SBS on 5.6%.

Glenn Dyer’s comments: One thing is certain from last night — the Nine Network’s Home Made is a genuine turkey. It was a confusing, boring and just uninteresting episode last night.

Apart from that, a big night for Ten — its biggest Tuesday for the year so far and the biggest ever audience for NCIS. Ten won everything, it actually was on top from 7pm through to after 11pm. Seven won 6pm to 7pm and was second and Nine was badly squeezed. With Talk’ ‘Bout Your Generation, Ten creamed it last night. Hot Seat did a fraction better at 5.30pm for Nine, but so did Deal Or No Deal for Seven, while Ten News did better again. The margin between Seven and Nine News narrowed, but Seven still crushed Nine.

TONIGHT: The ABC has the final episode of The Gruen Transfer — watch for the worst in-program plug for another program you have ever seen. Spicks and Specks is on before it at 8.30pm. The Chaser is back next week. Suddenly the ABC seems young again!

Nine has RPA and What’s Good For You, plus Two and a Half Men and The Mentalist and two Cold Cases. Seven has Criminal Minds, Thank God You’re Here, Home and Away and My Name Is Earl plus Family Guy.

Ten has MasterChef, the Simpsons, the final House for this series and Numb3rs. It will be a very different night for Ten tonight compared to last night. SBS has Food Safari in repeat at 7.30pm.
