The Losers: Mumbai Calling on the ABC at 9.30pm: 456,000. Home Made, 969,000 at 7.30pm for Seven. A distant third in the slot behind Ten and Seven. No hope of making an impression. The movie Wedding Crashers on Nine at 9.30pm except in Melbourne. It averaged 368,000 and will soon qualify for the veteran movie awards. In Melbourne Nine showed Kitchen Nightmares USA which averaged 243,000. Best not spoken about. The mix and match programming was due to the Underbelly Uncut being repeated, but not in Melbourne. Kitchen Nightmares was and will be shown there instead.

Ten and Seven drew Sydney; Ten won the other four metro markets. Ten and Seven now lead the week on 27.6% with Nine on 25.1%. In regional areas, Ten didn’t win. Glenn Dyer’s comments: Home Made: Not good enough with 969,000 viewers. But Nine will have to continue showing it one or two nights a week because it needs to fill two hours in the schedule.

TONIGHT: The return of The Chaser at 9pm will destabilise the 8.30pm to 9.30pm viewing: the ABC will win the hour solidly with Spicks and Specks at 8.30pm and the other networks will bring up the rear.

Next week it will be The Chaser against the first State Of Origin Rugby League game on Nine. Now that should be a battle royale in many NSW and Queensland homes.

The ABC also has The New Inventors and The Cook And The Chef. Seven has Thank God You’re Here at 7.30pm and then Criminal Minds and My Name Is Earl. Nine has What’s Good For You, RPA, The Mentalist and doubled episodes of Cold Case.

Ten’s line up has MasterChef, fading to The Simpsons and then doubled fresh episodes of Law And Order SVU. The second episode replaces the dragged Numb3rs which had collapsed in the ratings. Another one bites the dust from Ten’s 9.30pm line up.
