instructions will share our frustration and yearning for the good old
days when phones were answered by humans – real humans who lived in
the same country as you. Banks and financial institutions are, of
course, particularly frustrating.

As such, here is a short
listing of shortcuts that you can use for various Australian banks to
exit their IVR maze as soon as possible and reach a human being. The
idea is twofold: you get to speak to a human quicker; and, by having
people ignore the IVR system and constantly come through to the “wrong”
area, the banks will soon learn that people prefer to interact with a
human rather than press buttons.
