It was the first episode following Barrie Cassidy’s departure and the Insiders audience understandably dipped on Sunday, though only a little, pulling in a still solid 580,000 with Annabel Crabb in the chair. That’s around the audience level the program started the year with, so a good outcome — in fact it was just under the 588,000 for the penultimate program with Barry in the chair a fortnight ago.
The Voice continued on its merry way with 1.48 million nationally for Nine, House Rules straggled along in its wake with 1.19 million and Masterchef Australia was the caboose with 818,000.

I thought Annabel Crabb did an ok job of it, her interview of Dutton went pretty well. She cornered him quite nicely a couple of times, plus he was shown to be careless with the truth and just plain incompetent (again).
How rigorously and vigorously did Crabb pursue her lines of inquiry of Dutton over the treatment of whistleblowers Collaery and K, and the difference between the AFPs treatment of them in contrast to their running dead on other leaks : “depending on Party”?
Or ask something along the lines of :-
“Since when did “the national interest” prioritise such things as party propaganda, just plain propaganda and the profitability of Australian companies (donating to the Limited News Party?) over foreign government’s – so that Australian $tax were spent to bug those government meetings, for transactional edges for such Australian companies dealing with those foreign governments of countries in such dire economic straits?”?
I’m looking forward to her “confronting(?)” the likes of Scumbo, Fraudberg, Cash, Cormann, Cousin Jethro et al …… can’t wait to see what sort of Tim Tams she wants to share with them – heaven forbid jeopardising the sensitivities of her LNP “connections”?
