The Voice got even croakier last night, shedding 100,000 viewers from Monday night, falling through a million national viewers to 982,000 where it landed right next to Big Brother over on Seven. 

Big Brother had actually gained 10,000 viewers from Monday night.

It looks to me that The Voice is being hurt by the COVID-19-driven changes to the program. The last couple of episodes have lacked energy. 

Big Brother doesn’t just lack energy — there is none. It is still a dated concept and stilted on camera. Host Sonia Kruger isn’t helping.

Masterchef though continues with 1.26 million national viewers last night, down a few thousand from Monday night but still by far the most watched non-news program for another night.

On Foxtel, Gloria Jones’ second night out didn’t go so well as his debut on Monday. After averaging 109,000 on Sky News at 8pm on Monday and topping viewing on the night, his show lost more than 25%, or 29,000 people, to average 82,000 on Tuesday night, and fourth. Ooomph, Andrew Bolt beat Jones into top place with 97,000, down 10,000 from Monday, Paul Murray was second with 87,000 (down 7000), Credlin (Peta) was third with 86,000, up 19,000, and then Al in fourth.

Nine still won the night from Seven and Ten.

In breakfast, Sunrise with 457,000 nationally and 268,000 in the metros, ABC News Breakfast 298,000/193,000, Today 297,000/202,000.

In the regions, Seven News, 677,000, Seven News 6.30, 623,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm, 457,000, 7pm ABC News, 385,000, Home and Away, 384,000.
