Gogglebox Australia lifted more than 10% from a week ago to 800,000 viewers and beat the lacklustre Giants v Carlton game on Seven (561,000) and the Penrith-Brisbane NRL game on Nine ( 547,000).
The NRL game was the most watched program on Foxtel with 219,000, easily ahead of GWS v Carlton with 169,000 and the 124,000 who tuned in for Sydney v Melbourne.
The Bachelor on Ten averaged 724,000 with a “virtual” date (a world first, you know) that looked more like a Zoom meeting with crossed feeds.
In breakfast Sunrise had 476,000/266,000 viewers, Today had 334,000/228,000, and ABC News Breakfast drew in 324,000/222,000.
In regional markets it was Seven News with 576,000, Seven News 6.30 with 541,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm with 364,000, Home & Away with 334,000 and 7pm ABC News with 319,000.

I notice in the paragraph, Glenn Dyer has used the word ‘gotten’. This is an Americanism. In Australian English, the past tense of the verb ‘to get’ is always ‘got’ or ‘has got’. The only exception is in the old phrase, ‘ill gotten gain’. I really get upset at the loss of our Australian words and pronunciations, by Americanisms. One little example, ‘route’ has become ‘rowt’ instead of ‘root’.
