Secretary to the Minister for Education, Science and Training Pat
Farmer ended up representing the government at the Australian
Songwriters Awards in Sydney at the end of last week. Generous soul
that he is, Pat offered a mystery auction prize. A trip to Canberra
wasn’t enough, nor was the added attraction of a guided tour around
Parliament House.
“What do you want?” he finally asked.
“Your name on the Georgiou bill!” came a reply from the floor.
Somehow it seems that that’s a step too far even for the former ultra-marathon runner.
